Going Deeper | The Angels Sing – Part 1
The Angels Sing
—
Christmas time is here! I love Christmas music, especially the carols. My family would take drives to see the Christmas lights and sing many carols along the way. It was during these times when my siblings and I learned to sing harmony. The four of us kids – a soprano, alto, tenor and bass – were our own traveling chorus!
The Ridge’s Christmas series is titled “The Angels Sing.” For just a moment, allow yourself the joy of imagining the Angel Chorus singing, ”Glory to God in the highest.” It would have been amazing.
Josh introduced us to this series with the carol “Joy to the World,” the “accidental” Christmas carol.
Joy to the world! The Lord is come
Let earth receive her King
Let every heart prepare him room
And heaven and nature sing
The question we must ask ourselves is, “Am I preparing my heart to receive Him?” Life has a way of becoming noisy, and we are often unable to calm ourselves enough to prepare. But a hectic life should not be an excuse for being unprepared for Christ. Galatians 4:4-5 says:
God’s timing was perfect for the coming of Jesus to the Earth. So we must find the right time during this Christmas season to prepare our hearts. Set aside a time each day to reflect on the gift of Jesus, our Savior. His coming to Earth, as a baby, totally dependent on Mary and Joseph for everything, was on purpose. This is a key part of God’s larger plan of salvation. More than anything, you need Jesus! He has come and He will return again. Let every heart prepare Him room!

"When the time came to completion, God sent His Son, born of a woman, born under the law, to redeem those under the law, so that we might receive adoption as sons."
God’s timing was perfect for the coming of Jesus to the Earth. So we must find the right time during this Christmas season to prepare our hearts.
