Path of Victory - Part 6 [Notes]

You’re invited to join us for "The Path of Victory"—a six-week journey through the life of Jesus. From His humble beginnings to His life-changing ministry, and ultimately to His death and victorious resurrection, we’ll follow His story all the way to Easter Sunday and beyond. Along the way, we’ll explore six defining attributes of Jesus and ask God to shape and grow these same transformational qualities in our own lives as His followers.
Takeaway: When Jesus walked out of the tomb, He secured His victory and ours too.
Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and the sea no longer existed. I also saw the Holy City, new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared like a bride adorned for her husband. Then I heard a loud voice from the throne:“Look! God’s dwelling is with humanity, and He will live with them. They will be His people, and God Himself will be with them and be their God. He will wipe away every tear from their eyes. Death will no longer exist; grief, crying, and pain will exist no longer, because the previous things have passed away.” Then the One seated on the throne said, “Look! I am making everything new.” He also said, “Write, because these words are faithful and true.” And He said to me, “It is done! I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. I will give water as a gift to the thirsty from the spring of life. The victor will inherit these things, and I will be his God, and he will be My son.”
– Revelation 21:1-7 (HCSB)

Resurrection Essential to the Gospel (1 Corinthians 15:1–11)

Now brothers, I want to clarify for you the gospel I proclaimed to you; you received it and have taken your stand on it. You are also saved by it, if you hold to the message I proclaimed to you—unless you believed for no purpose. For I passed on to you as most important what I also received: That Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that He was buried, that He was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures, and that He appeared to Cephas, then to the Twelve. Then He appeared to over 500 brothers at one time; most of them are still alive, but some have fallen asleep. Then He appeared to James, then to all the apostles. Last of all, as to one abnormally born, He also appeared to me. For I am the least of the apostles, unworthy to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God. But by God’s grace I am what I am, and His grace toward me was not ineffective. However, I worked more than any of them—yet not I, but God’s grace that was with me. Therefore, whether it is I or they, so we proclaim and so you have believed.
For I passed on to you as most important what I also received: That Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that He was buried, that He was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures,
– 1 Corinthians 15:3-4 (HCSB)
and that He appeared to Cephas, then to the Twelve. Then He appeared to over 500 brothers at one time; most of them are still alive, but some have fallen asleep. Then He appeared to James, then to all the apostles. Last of all, as to one abnormally born, He also appeared to me.
– 1 Corinthians 15:5-8 (HCSB)
After He had suffered, He also presented Himself alive to them by many convincing proofs, appearing to them during 40 days and speaking about the kingdom of God.
– Acts 1:3 (HCSB)
Resurrection Essential to the Faith (1 Corinthians 15:12-19)

And if Christ has not been raised, your faith is worthless; you are still in your sins.
Christ’s Resurrection Guarantees Ours (1 Corinthians 15:20-28)

But now Christ has been raised from the dead, the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep. For since death came through a man, the resurrection of the dead also comes through a man. For as in Adam all die, so also in Christ all will be made alive.
Resurrection Supported by Christian Experience (1 Corinthians 15:29-34)

If the dead are not raised, Let us eat and drink, for tomorrow we die!
The Nature of the Resurrection Body (1 Corinthians 15:35-49)

And just as we have borne the image of the man of dust, we will also bear the image of the Man of heaven.
Victorious Resurrection (1 Corinthians 15:50-57)

Death, where is your victory? Death, where is your sting? Now the sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ!

Therefore, my dear brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always excelling in the Lord’s work, knowing that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.
– 1 Corinthians 15:58 (HCSB)
Therefore, my dear brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always excelling in the Lord’s work, knowing that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.
– 1 Corinthians 15:58 (HCSB)
And if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead lives in you, then He who raised Christ from the dead will also bring your mortal bodies to life through His Spirit who lives in you.
– Romans 8:11 (HCSB)
We are more than victorious through Him who loved us.

“He who testifies about these things says, ‘Yes, I am coming quickly.’ Amen! Come, Lord Jesus!”
– Revelation 22:20 (HCSB)
Dear God,
I acknowledge that I have sinned and need a Savior.
I believe that Jesus died on the cross for my sins and rose from the dead.
Today, I place my trust in Jesus for the forgiveness of sins and the gift of eternal life.
I come to You in Jesus’ name, and because of what He did for me.
Amen.
