True Worship

When we worship, we are proclaiming heartfelt expressions of our love for God. Growing up in the church, I remember the beauty of lifted hands, joyful songs of praise, and living in God’s divine presence—it truly is a blessing.

But have you ever wondered if this is what real faith looks like? Or do some people lift their hands and sing just to appear genuine? Maybe they’re afraid to worship in a way that feels true to them because they worry about not fitting in.

For a long time, I thought faith looked like what I saw everyone else doing—singing loudly, and going to church every Sunday. But as I’ve grown and observed more, I’ve realized that faith doesn’t look the same for everyone.

That led me to this question: What does authentic faith really look like in people?
Authentic faith isn’t about meeting expectations or following rules set by the world. It’s about your own personal, one-on-one relationship with God. And to answer that question—there is no single, perfect answer. Authentic faith is simply living transparently before God, being genuine and honest with Him.

1 Timothy 1:5 says, “The goal of our instruction is love that comes from a pure heart, a good conscience, and a sincere faith.”

Have you ever felt uncertain about how you express yourself during worship? Do you hesitate when people ask about your faith? That verse reminds us that if your heart is pure, your conscience clear, and your faith sincere, then you are exactly where you need to be. That brings confidence—not in yourself, but in who God made you to be.
There’s no need to try and “fit in,” because your faith is uniquely yours. No one else can define that for you. Don’t let others shape your worship into something it was never meant to be.

I believe there are always going to be people who feel “less than,” who think they’re not good at having faith just because they don’t look or act like others. Especially in a world where online personas often show a polished image—one that might not reflect the struggles behind the screen. But titles, appearances, or perfection don’t get you into heaven.

Worship is a conversation between you and God. Don’t let others interrupt that.
If you ever find yourself feeling like you’re not doing enough, remind yourself to keep reflecting God in any way you can. Because it is by His grace that you have been saved, through faith.
