Singing to Obey
Singing isn’t just something we do when we feel like it—it’s something God calls us to. In Sunday's message, Pastor Josh reminds us that worship through song is an act of obedience. We sing because God commands it, and His commands are always for His glory and our good.
With The Ridge Online, you can join us every Sunday live at 9a and 11a, and our gatherings are available on demand starting at 2p! Join us at https://theridge.church/messages

DISCUSSION QUESTIONS
1. If you have one, share a time when you sang even though you didn’t really want to. Maybe it was a school program, church performance, or another moment.
2. Read 1 Chronicles 16:23–24. What stands out to you about the commands to Sing, Proclaim, and Declare? Why do you think God commands His people to sing? How does this challenge or encourage your view of singing in worship?
3. Read 1 John 5:3. How have you seen God’s commands bring about your good?
This verse says God’s commands are not a burden. How does that reshape how we view obedience, especially when it comes to worship through singing?
4. Read John 14:15. Why do you think Jesus connects love and obedience so directly? How does singing to God, even when we don’t feel like it, become an expression of our love for Him?
5. What’s one practical way you can choose to worship through song this week, even if you don’t “feel” like it? What might it look like to let obedience lead, and trust that your heart may follow?
