How Did Jesus Heal? // Path of Victory - Part 4

Apr 6, 2025    Josh Rhodes

Continuing "Path of Victory," Pastor Josh explores one of Jesus' most powerful miracles—raising Lazarus from the dead. More than just a display of power, this moment reveals Jesus' deep love, complete dependence on the Father, and call to abide in Him. In this message, we'll discover how true strength to live for Christ comes not from our own efforts but from abiding in Him.

DISCUSSION QUESTIONS

1. Can you think of a moment in your life—or someone else’s—that felt like a “miracle”? What made it feel that way?

2. Which of Jesus’ miracles do you find most fascinating, and why does it stand out to you?

3. Read John 11:5: “Now Jesus loved Martha, her sister, and Lazarus.” What stands out to you about Jesus’ relationship with Mary, Martha, and Lazarus in John 11 and Luke 10? How does that shape how you view Jesus as fully God and fully human?

4. Read John 11:35: “Jesus wept.” Even though He knew resurrection was coming, Jesus still wept. What does that teach us about His humanity and how He responds to our grief and pain?

5. Read John 11:43–44: “After He said this, He shouted with a loud voice, ‘Lazarus, come out!’ The dead man came out bound hand and foot with linen strips and with his face wrapped in a cloth. Jesus said to them, ‘Loose him and let him go.” Try to imagine being there and seeing this moment with your own eyes. How do you think you would have responded? How would it have shaped your view of Jesus?

6. Jesus relied on the will of the Father and the power of the Holy Spirit to carry out His ministry. What might “abiding in Christ” look like for you this week? What’s one area where you know you need God’s power to help you live for Him?
