David: Delight in the Word
David loved God’s Word, and it shaped his whole life. In week 2 of "Cover to Cover," Pastor Josh explores Psalm 19, showing how cherishing Scripture helps us cherish God Himself. From David’s victories and failures to his deep devotion, learn how reading, reflecting, and responding to God’s Word can renew your life and grow your relationship with Him.

DISCUSSION QUESTIONS
1. Pastor Josh shared about staying in touch during a long-distance relationship using tools like AOL Instant Messenger, calling cards, and handwritten letters. If you’re old enough to remember some of those tools, share a memory or story.
2. Read Psalm 19:1-6, then compare it with Romans 1:20. What aspects of God’s character are revealed through creation (for example, His power, creativity, order, or majesty)? How does creation point people toward God, even without written Scripture?
3. Read Psalm 19:7-9. God’s Word is described as a form of special revelation. What different descriptions of God’s Word stand out to you in these verses, and what effects does David say God’s Word can have on our lives?
4. Read Psalm 19:10-11. David compares God’s Word to gold (a precious commodity) and honey (a precious and sweet food). What does this comparison reveal about how David viewed God’s Word? How does that challenge or affirm how we view it today?
5. Read Psalm 19:12-14. In response to God’s revelation through creation and His Word, David prays for cleansing, obedience, and a heart that pleases God. How does this prayer show that cherishing God’s revelation leads to cherishing a relationship with Him?
6. As we close, share briefly how you are seeking to personally read, reflect on, and respond to God’s Word in this new year. What has been encouraging, and what has been challenging?
7. Close your time together in prayer, asking God to help you cherish His Word and grow in your relationship with Him and others.
