Was The Holy Spirit With Jesus?
Continuing our "Third Person" series, Pastor Andrew shares insights from his unique Catholic-Charismatic background and how it shaped his understanding of the Holy Spirit. He explores the vital role of God the Spirit in Jesus’ life and ministry—from His miraculous conception and baptism to His empowered mission—and how the Spirit ignited the birth and growth of the early church.

DISCUSSION QUESTIONS
1. Share about the context you grew up in as it relates to church. Was it one that overemphasized, underemphasized, misunderstood, or properly understood and emphasized the Holy Spirit?
2. Arch’s first point was “God the Spirit was present and active in the life of God the Son.” He shared the examples of Jesus’ birth, His baptism, and His ministry; share some examples of how you see the Holy Spirit’s presence in these three areas.
3. Read John 14:15-17, 16:7-11 and Acts 1:8. What do we learn about The Holy Spirit from Jesus in these verses?
4. Can you think of any examples of how the Holy Spirit worked miraculously in the book of Acts to minister to the church and to unbelievers? How did these examples validate the early church as legitimate?
5. Pastor Arch ended with a quote from Rupertus Meldenius: “In essentials, unity; in non-essentials, liberty, in all things, charity.” How can you grow in your ability to be charitable, especially with those you disagree with?
